Planning PSIII

 

     Throughout my time at Wilson Middle School I had a chance to not only create many different lesson plans, unit plans as well as have the experience in creating a 'long range year plan'. I have also had a great opportunity to learn from the P.E. department of many other great lessons to teach to my students. More specifically I was able to learn a lot of different games from my Teacher Mentor Aimee Dewacht. From day one my Teacher Mentor told me that "I do not have to reinvent the wheel" and can ask her for help in creating great lessons, as well as use her unit plans to get ideas for my own units. One of my favourite lessons I've done was during the Volleyball Unit in when I learned from my Mentor that I can set up badminton nets to create a square and have 4 teams playing a modified game of volleyball with an Omnikin Ball. Furthermore I learned that there are lots of great games that I can use that have an Omnikin ball, one of my other favourites being Indiana Jones Temple of Doom with a giant 72" Omnikin Ball, students absolutely loved it. In conclusion it has been a great experience in learning all of the work it takes to plan out a good year plan, and to plan out great unit plans.
