Throughout my first year at the college I have had the opportunity to learn so much that it is tough to pick out what was my favorite of them all. But if I had to pick, I would say that the bigges thing that has helped me open up my "worldview" and helped me grow as a person and a future teacher it would be this online portfolio that we had to create for our Education course. In this portfolio I had to talk about myself and while doing that learning about the kind of person that I am. As well part of building this portfolio we had to focuse on our education about what it takes to be a teacher, who is the learner, and most importantly how to be a great and inspiring teacher that educates the youth of tomorrow. This portfolio has provided me with a lot, such as the different points of view on many aspects of teaching, creating a teaching philosophy, and the various types of teaching styles (direct/indirect teaching). As mentioned previously this project of building a portfolio has made me a better learner and to be a better teacher. Throughout the year I've had the opportunity to visit and observe other schools, as well to see the various systems and the importance in the view of different teaching. This whole year has taught me to create lesson plans, as well getting the opportunity to teach a lesson at a school, and most importanly to build great relationships with both the students and colleagues.
