Curriculum

 

   On Wednesday December 16, 2015 I completed my Professional Semester 1 at Dr. Gerald B. Probe Elementary School in Lethbridge, Alberta, where I was placed in a grade 3 classroom with 25 students. My T.A. welcomed me into the classroom, and had me teaching variety of lessons from day one. My T.A. gave me the opportunity to teach all the subjects in the classroom, from teaching a sound unit in science, to doing several lessons in Physical Education, several art lessons, as well as teaching a mini unit in language arts and finally to have me teach a mini unit in social studies from day one. My main focus was teaching the community differences in social studies, as well as teaching the unit on sound and hearing for the science subject. The students completed all of their science worksheets, from simple definition worksheets to creating and testing their own sound experiments.
